Experts in the Earth's climate have predicted that 2010 would be the hottest year in history. Their predictions were confirmed. The heat wave that hit Northern Hemisphere earlier in this summer has already broken all imaginable and unimaginable records. American scientists from the National Center for Snow and Ice Research report that the Arctic sea glaciers keep sinking lower and lower. The researchers’ reports show that the ice is melting rapidly, with a record speed of about 40,000 m3 of ice per day. Climate scientists from NASA report that it the global warming, the end of which has not yet been seen, is on us. However, the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia claims that the heat wave is not linked to global warming. "It has nothing to do with climate change, nothing at all", says the director of Russian Center for Hydrometeorology, Roman Vilfand. Nevertheless, due to the heat, emergency situations have been declared in 14 regions of Russia. In many places, the abnormal heat has destroyed the entire crop. Farmers suffer losses, and people seek medical help more and more often.
