Police officer certification extended until August 1, 2011
On Thursday, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree extending the MIA officer re-attestation to August 1, 2011, the Kremlin press service spokesperson told the journalists. Previously the certification was scheduled to be completed by June 1.The re-attestation of the Interior Ministry employees started on 1 March in accordance with the presidential decree "On maximum workforce strength of the MIA bodies". All employees of Ministry of Internal Affairs had been withdrawn from regular staff. The recertified militia officers will return to work at the Interior Ministry in the capacity of police employees.
The high-ranking Interior Ministry officers tried to pass certification in the first flight. As a result, by mid-April about 40 generals who had not passed the test had lost their posts. Others became the first employees of the Russian police.
