In 2016, Aeroflot fleet will be reinforced with Boeings 787
In 2016, the fleet of the most famous Russian airline Aeroflot will begin its expansion with 22 Boeings 787. This is what CEO Vitaly Saveliev said in a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin."In 2016, we expect 22 aircraft Dreamliners, or Boeings 787 [to join the fleet]. And another 22 aircraft Airbus 350, which is still in development, will arrive in the same 2016", reported Saveliev. The company fleet will be also beefed up with Russian aircraft – Aeroflot expects to get 100 aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100.
Boeing 787 is a wide-body twin-engine jet airliner, developed by American company Boeing. The maximum passenger capacity is from 250 to 330, depending on the variant. Boeing claims that the Dreamliner will be more economical than the previous designs and will also be the first large passenger aircraft made of widely used composite materials.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a Russian short-range passenger aircraft developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft together with a range of foreign companies. Superjet 100 is designed to carry up to 95 passengers to a distance of 4400 km and is manufactured to replace the Tu-134 and Yak-42 aircraft.
