32d Moscow International Film Festival to open today
The Festival opening will take place at the movie theater Pushkin.Here, after the solemn opening ceremony, the film of the French film director Claude Lelouche Woman and Men will be shown. The movie will be presented by the author, who himself will receive an award of the Festival for an outstanding contribution to the world cinema.
The Moscow International Film Festival is a film festival held at first in the USSR, then in the Russian Federation. It has been accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Usually, it is held at the end of June and lasts ten days. It is the second oldest film festival in the world (after the Venetian film festival).
The main prize of Gold St. George competition is entered by 17 films from Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Venezuela, Germany, Spain, Canada, Korea, Poland, Romania, Turkey, France and Czechia. Russia is presented in the competition by a story debut of a Novosibirsk documentary film director Jury Schiller Sparrow (June 23 and 25).
