United Russia to nominate Putin for president before Duma elections

The ruling party United Russia has advised when it is going to suggest Prime Minister Vladimir Putin for president. The party is not going to deliberately put this case off. So UR will do it even before the elections.

"The Federation Council should decide to hold presidential elections within a certain time frame", said the State Duma Speaker, Boris Gryzlov.

According to him, in accordance with the law, this decision will be made in November. As soon as it is taken, UR will announce the continuation of the Congress, where it is going to reveal the candidate's name, which is already known.

As previously reported, in September – at the first stage of the Congress, – Dmitry Medvedev announced that he would not seek a second term as President and offered Vladimir Putin to run for presidency. Putin accepted the offer.
