Russia and China veto resolution on Syria

Russia and China used their veto right and blocked the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution on Syria.
 
The resolution, which is opposed by Russia and China, called for sanctions against Syria if within 30 days, the government of this country did not fulfill the requirement to stop the suppression of the opposition in the country. This draft resolution was proposed by European countries to the UN Security Council for a vote.
 
By voting, the resolution was supported by nine countries, four countries abstained.
